The Wellington Lions have decided to sponsor CML Snider Public School in Wellington for the Medic Alelrt "No Child Without" program. Lion Janet is working on the details.
Lions Dave and Kevin are preparing for the upcoming Lions get together previously called the Beef and Pork Barbecue. We're still working on a new name, but we hope to have it in May.
Easter is approaching so we all agreed to do some Easter Bunny selling. Lion Janet will order the bunnies from Donini Chocolate in Belleville. Probably Lion Dave will freeze his buns sitting outside the IGA store and make a mint.
We have had several successful dinner meetings in the new year. Our meals are "to die for" good and we have great fellowship. Some of our members have attended Zone Meetings and a Mystery Dinner.
Lion Janet made a presentation about "No Child Without" (Medic Alert Partnership) at the Zone 11 West Zone Advisory Meeting in Napanee. Lion Janet is the MD "A" Chair for No Child Without.
Lions Janet and Harry enjoyed a hilarious murder mystery dinner at the Stirling Lions Club. Lion Harry was frisked by the cops and had his hair messed up by the cute floosy, but was lucky enough to win a door prize.
Several of our members atrtended the Lions Service for Lion Art Chartrand of the Belleville Lions Club.
Lion President Don relinquished his position because of health reasons. Fortunately he is still able to attend meetings, but Vice President Rob is taking on the role of Acting President. Of course, the first thing Lion Rob does is take off for warmer climes for a month and a half without taking the rest of us with him!!
Lion Ernie, our most senior member, has lost sight in one eye. We're not sure yet why this happened, but we hope he will continue coming to our meetings.
Lion Ruth is somewhere out West. We had an e-mail from her from the Seattle area. We'll be glad to welcome her back sometime soon.
The Dragonboaters are itching to start the new season, but the bay is still frozen over. Some of them are waxing and shining up their paddles so they'll be ready for the April starting time!
